Linda Bryant Lucas, 76, of Lake Charles passed away at 1:22 PM on Sunday, December 1, 2024 in a local hospital.
She was born on November 3, 1948, in New Orleans, Louisiana, and made Lake Charles her home more than 30 years ago. It was there that she found the love of her life and built a fulfilling life.
Mrs. Lucas was an avid bowler, excelling in the sport and serving as a past board member of the Bowler's Association. Her love for bowling was matched only by her creative talent in sewing, a hobby that brought her joy.
Those left to cherish her memories are her loving husband of 30 years, Kent Lucas; children, Tammy Smith Amy (Howard Amy), Charmaine Wood, Emily Wood (Phillip Anderson), Renee Burke (Tom), and Kevin Lucas; 20 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Mark Lucas; her parents, Emily and Braxford Bryant, Sr.; and a brother, Braxford "Sonny" Bryant, Jr..
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 7, 2024 in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. David Lilley will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will begin on Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the start of the service.
