Lloyd Murrell Triplett, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on March 8, 2024, at the age of 82.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Faith Southwest Methodist Church, 4415 Wesley Road, in Amarillo with the Reverend Dr. Mark Welshimer officiating. A graveside memorial at Llano Cemetery will immediately follow the ceremony. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Lloyd was born on January 19, 1942, in Woodward, Oklahoma, to Tom and Lena Triplett. He graduated from Canyon High School in 1960 and attended West Texas State University. At WT, he met his wife, Carole Poole of Texline. They married in Texline on June 1, 1963, and celebrated their 60 wedding anniversary last summer.
Lloyd was a farmer and cattle rancher on his family farm east of Amarillo until he retired in 2007. He was a successful and innovative farmer who enjoyed all the aspects of his craft. Artistic and creative, he invented and built many of his own barns, grain mills, implements, and a small feedlot. Lloyd's greatest passion was motor sports. He raced motorcycles before modifying a Corvette for tractor pulling. In his retired years, Lloyd restored and rebuilt classic cars, spending many happy hours in his shop with his car friends. He was a good and faithful Christian man; he and Carole joined Faith Southwest Methodist Church when they moved to Amarillo.
Lloyd is predeceased by his parents, Tom and Lena Triplett and a beloved brother, Joe. Survivors include his wife, Carole, daughter Lori Maxfield and husband Brett of Amarillo, son Rodney Triplett and wife Sabine of Houston, sister Sharon Dalrymple and husband Steve of Amarillo; six grandchildren: Cale Maxfield and wife Jessika, Jill Irwin and husband Korbin, Tess Stephens and husband Sage, Hugo Triplett, Emmi Triplett and Nils Triplett. Finally, he leaves his only great-grandchild, Caroline Kay Irwin.
In memory of Lloyd, please consider a donation to either the Canyon High School FFA or the Claude High School FFA. Lloyd strongly believed in the value of vocational education and would be honored by your memorial.

Vicki Heck

March 11, 2024

When Heck´s first moved to Randall County in 1968, we had a Boston Terrier Bulldog named Korky. Our neighbors, Lloyd, Carol, Lori, and Rodney had a little poodle named Bridgette. Bridgette was adorable little thing dancing and prancing around the Triplett place. And Korky just couldn´t resist and would visit frequently. One day Lloyd came to see us with a box of, yes, you guessed it!, puppies! They were all kinds of shapes but their colors and markings were distinctively Korky´s. Lloyd smiled putting the box on the ground then carefully standing up, He just said, "Here´s your half!" Lloyd´s expressions were succinct and hilarious! I will miss him. But thankful for our neighbors now, Lori and Brett. Rest in peace Lloyd.
