Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rhodes Funeral Home - Washington Avenue on Apr. 13, 2023.
Lolita Althea Perez Dufauchard, affectionately known as "Lo", was the second child born to Hernandez and Leonora Duplessis Perez on November 19, 1931. She was a native New Orleanian who relocated briefly to Shreveport, LA and was residing in Rosharon, TX at the time of her death. Lolita exchanged her earthly home for her heavenly home on April 3, 2023. She was 91 years old.
Lolita began her education at Corpus Christi Elementary School. She graduated from Xavier University Preparatory High School where she received the Class of 1950 Scholarship Award. She then went on to attend Xavier University.
Lolita was united in holy matrimony to Alvin Charles Dufauchard on December 31, 1951. They were blessed with two loving children, Al and Sharon; and were married for 56 years.
Family was Lolita's utmost priority. She adored her children. Like any parent, Lolita only wanted the best for them. The main reason she worked outside the home was to afford Al and Sharon the opportunity to attend college. Lolita had numerous occupations throughout her career and was a dedicated, diligent, and dependable employee. She worked at Bunk's Factory, the United States Postal Service, the Department of Agriculture, and the Veterans Administration Hospital. She retired in 1991.
Lolita was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Charles Dufauchard, Sr.; parents, Hernandez Perez and Leonora Duplessis Perez; father-in-law, Arnold Benedict, and mother-in-law, Viola Fagot Dufauchard; one grandson, Terral Roberson, Jr.; one brother, Ricardo "Ricky" Perez; two sisters, Ramona Frank (Charles) and Wanda Gordon; brothers-inlaws, Daniel Brown, Arnold Dufauchard (Audrey), Salvadore Dufauchard (Marie), Lloyd Dufauchard, Warren Dufauchard (Doris), Eldridge Dufauchard, Leon Dufauchard, Henry Fancher; sisters-in-law, Barbara Perez, and Amy Wynne(James).
