Lonnie Mowery, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully in the early hours on July 17, 2025, at the age of 82. A devoted family man with a heart of gold, he built a life centered on love, hard work, and unwavering dedication to those he held dear.
Born with a passion for craftsmanship, he spent his career as a talented body man, known for his skill and care with classic cars. He had a lifelong love for tinkering in the garage, riding motorcycles, and speeding across the water in his cherished boats-always chasing adventure with a spark in his eye.
But it was his love story with his wife that truly defined him. From the moment they met, it was love at first sight. Together, they traveled near and far, rarely apart, sharing a bond that inspired everyone around them. The family they built together is a testament to that love-strong, close-knit, and full of laughter and pride.
He was the kind of grandfather who never missed a moment. Whether it was a ballgame, a school play, or just a Sunday gathering, he showed up with his whole heart. He gave his time freely, coaching youth baseball at the local rec center, lending a helping hand to anyone in need, and raising two strong daughters who carry his strength and spirit forward.
A true original, he lived life to the fullest and left a legacy of love, loyalty, and kindness. His presence will be deeply missed, but the impact of his life will be felt for generations.
Lonnie is preceded in death by his parents William Mowery and Ethel Mowery (Wiltfong) and sister Patricia Mowery.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Carol Mowery (Keller), two daughters Kim Dodson (Mike), Karrie Hallett, one brother Gary Mowery, six grandchildren Megan Dodson (Alex), Kattie Dodson (Dylon), Kacie Dodson (Cody), Morgan Wolken (Reuben), Jeremy Hallett (Bridget), Chris Hallett (Courtney), two nieces Susan May and Sandra Clonch, 16 dearly loved great grandchildren and many cousins.
