Lora Huckleberry, passed away peacefully at the age of 62 in her home in Austin, Indiana, on April 7, 2025. Born on September 16, 1962, in Seymour, Indiana, she was the loving daughter of Herbert Gray and Lois Irene (Hale) Gray, both of whom predeceased her.
Lora's life was a testament to her enduring kindness and unwavering commitment to her family and work. On June 14, 1980, she married Charles Huckleberry. Together, they built a life filled with love and shared experiences that will continue to resonate with Charles and all who knew them.
She was a retired employee of Johnson Elementary School in Scottsburg, Indiana. Her dedication to service extended to her work at Scott Memorial Hospital and Clark Memorial Hospital, as well as her time at the old Freudenburg NOK in Scottsburg.
Lora's legacy is carried on by her beloved family, including her daughter, Krystal Bowman, and son-in-law, Greg, of Austin, Indiana. She was a proud grandmother to Courtney and Clayton Bowman.
In addition to her parents, Lora was preceded in death by her brother, Allan Gray.
The funeral service for Lora will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Buchanan Funeral Home in Austin, Indiana, with Rev. Jeff Mullians officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm on the day of the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the New Providence Cemetery in Austin, Indiana.
