Lottie Ann Darkis, 87, passed away peacefully at her home in Seymour, surrounded by her loving family, on March 5, 2024.
Lottie was born January 17, 1937 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Lee and Evelyn (Neal) Wagaman. She married Andrew Darkis in 1952, and they had 55 wonderful years raising their family together until his passing in 2007. Lottie will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, as she made it her life's work to care for her family. She had a great sense of humor and although she could be shy, she was always fun, kind and loving. She never had a bad word to say about anyone.
Lottie was an avid gardener, canning the vegetables she grew and always putting geraniums out. She loved all kinds of flowers. And Lottie was a huge fan of Elvis Presley! She also doted on her cat Lucky, who misses her greatly.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Mike (Teresa) Darkis, Andy Darkis, and Debby (Dinger) Hardy; grandchildren, Jennifer Darkis, Jeremy Hardy, and Josh Hardy; and great grandchildren, Keilen Hardy, Briar Hardy, and Christian Hardy.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, listed above; her husband, Andrew Darkis; and her companion, Irvin Graham.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour. Memorial contributions in Lottie's honor may be made out to Schneck Medical Center Home Health and Hospice.
