Louis R. Negri, 77, of Hillsdale, passed away at St. Peter’s Hospital on February 21, 2025 after a brief illness. He was born in North Canaan, Connecticut on May 5, 1947 to the late Domenic and Anna (Consolini) Negri. After graduating high school Lou took up various jobs. He started working at Butternut Ski resort when he was 17-18 and then went to work for Price Chopper in Great Barrington in the produce department. He eventually retired from there and enjoyed spending his retirement with his wife Robin. They both were avid bowlers, and happened to meet by chance at the bowling alley. Although they didn’t have children together, Louis was like a father to Robin’s children. He enjoyed watching horse races and the occasionally bloody mary, but above all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Louis is survived by his loving wife, Robin and her children, Georgia (Eric) Zyryi, and Jason Jones. He is also survived by his sister in law, Georgia Miles and extended family.
In honoring Lou’s wishes, no formal services will be held at this time.
