Mae Rehr, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away surrounded by the warmth of her family's love. Born with a heart full of gentleness and kindness, Mae dedicated her life to nurturing and caring for those around her. Mae graduated from Benjamin Russell High School, where she sowed the seeds of lifelong friendships and an unwavering commitment to her community.
Mae's professional journey was as heartfelt as her personal life. She cherished the years she spent at Chapman's Healthcare, where she provided compassionate care to her patients. Mae's innate ability to soothe and comfort those in need extended beyond her professional role, as she also supported many families in caring for their loved ones at home. Her work was not just a job; it was a calling that she fulfilled with grace and dedication.
In her personal life, Mae was an epicurean of the home, known for her exceptional cooking, baking, and canning skills. She found joy in preparing meals for her family, especially during the holidays, which were vibrant and full of life thanks to her efforts. Mae's faith was a cornerstone of her existence, and she attended church regularly, instilling the values of love and devotion in her family. Family vacations were a source of cherished memories, as Mae loved nothing more than spending quality time with her loved ones.
One of Mae's most treasured traditions was singing "You Are My Sunshine" to all her children and grandchildren when they were young, a melody that would become a tender symbol of her enduring love. Her life was a testament to her faith, as she never missed an opportunity to witness to others about God's grace.
Mae's legacy of love is carried on by her beloved family. She is survived by her daughter, Rita K. (Cole Thompson) Rehr of Weaver, AL; granddaughter, Jasmine (Trenton Clark) Morgan; grandson, Cain Morgan; daughter, Ruthie A. (James Michael) Stroud; grandson, Andrew (Katie) McClure; grandson, Blake Missildine; great-grandson, Waylen Clark; grandson, Easton Thompson; great-granddaughter, Brynleigh McClure; daughter, Wendy Michelle Rehr; son, James Eric (Haley) Rehr; son, Shannon Lee (Sara) Davis; and daughter, Kim Davis. Mae was preceded in death by her mother, Alma McGuire, Robert Patterson, Ruth Edwards, Grandma Gracie, and Charlie McGuire, who no doubt welcomed her into heaven with open arms.
Mae's impact on the world was profound and her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Yet, her influence will continue to resonate through the lives she touched, the care she provided, and the love she freely gave. The world is a brighter place because of Mae Rehr, and her memory will be treasured forever as a symbol of love and selflessness. Her gentle spirit will continue to guide us, just as the sunshine follows the rain.
