Malcolm Moore Obituary

Heaven gained a faithful servant and a joyful heart on August 24, 2025, when Malcolm Bruce Moore, 65, of Westminster, passed peacefully at his home.

Born April 26, 1960, in Seneca, South Carolina, Malcolm was the son of the late Charles and Nora Lee Miles Moore. From an early age, Malcolm had a love for music, creativity, and the beauty of life that would shape everything he did.

A graduate of Westminster High School's Class of 1978, he later attended North Georgia Technical School, where he studied photography-his lifelong passion. Malcolm's talent behind the camera gave him the ability to see the world through a lens of wonder, preserving memories that would last generations. He shared that gift as the longtime manager of Campus Camera Inc. in Clemson, and later through his work in custom framing and sales at Allen's Creation, helping families and friends cherish the moments that mattered most. His present employer was Clemson Variety and Frame Shop in Clemson.

But Malcolm's greatest calling was to the church. A devoted and faithful member of Old Liberty Baptist Church, he served as music director for several years and sang in the choir. His contagious smile, uplifting spirit, and God-given voice blessed the congregation and left a mark on every hymn sung and every soul who listened. Music was his ministry, and his life was his song.

Malcolm's family was his joy. Though he never had children of his own, he poured his love and guidance into his many nieces and nephews, treating them as if they were his own. To them, he was not only "Uncle Malcolm" but a second father, mentor, and friend. His kindness, generosity, and good heart made him a cornerstone of the Moore family and a blessing to all who knew him.

He leaves behind his beloved siblings: Douglas Moore (Elaine) of Westminster, Lillian Moore Thrift of Westminster, Deborah Moore Durham (Lamar) of Westminster, and Cheryl Moore Burkett (Charles) of Seneca; sister in-law, Sudie Moore of Seneca, and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and friends who will carry forward his laughter and love.

In addition to his parents, Malcolm was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Harold Moore, and an infant brother, Barry Lee Moore, and his brother-in-law, Glenn Thrift.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm, Thursday, August 28th, 2025 at Old Liberty Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the Old Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Wednesday, August 27th, 2025 at Sandifer Funeral Home. The body will lie in state 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm, Thursday, August 28th, 2025 at Old Liberty Baptist Church.

The family will be at their respective homes. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Malcolm's memory may be made to Old Liberty Baptist Church, in care of Elaine Moore, 450 Cleveland Pike Road, Westminster, SC 29693.
