Marcus Carlton Wiggins was born October 28, 1939, in Wigginsville, Texas, and passed away September 9, 2023, at his home in Wigginsville, Texas.
Marcus is preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Almeta Wiggins, sister Dewana Stowe, brother Arthur Wiggins, mother-in-law Katherin Knight, father-in-law Melvin Knight and brother-in-law Billy Brice. He missed, loved, and often spoke about them until his death.
Marcus leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Laura of Conroe, Texas, Son, Chris Wiggins and wife Margie of Conroe, Texas, Son, Kerry Wiggins and wife Kristen of Richards, Texas, and Son, John Wiggins and wife Maura of Magnolia, Texas. Grandchildren whom he cherished and loved, Justin Wiggins and wife Marcy, Krista Scott and husband Caleb, Kensey Wiggins, Patrick Wiggins, Brendan Wiggins, and Mckella Wiggins. Great grandchildren, Kali Wiggins, Layla Wiggins, Waylon Wiggins, Swayde Wiggins, Luke Scott, Beya Wiggins, and Ruthie Scott.
Marcus leaves behind two sisters, Jeanette Brice of Conroe, Texas, and Carolyn Knight, and husband James of Houston, Texas, and sister-in-law Wanda Wiggins of Conroe, Texas, along with countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that he loved.
Marcus attended school in Conroe, Texas, through the 10th grade and later received his GED. He then joined the Navy and served our country from 1958 – 1962.
Once Marcus left active duty, he married Laura Knight on November 22, 1963. The two of them were a team and were always together. They are an example of how a marriage is supposed to work. Their boys clearly learned this lesson and have followed suit.
Marcus loved his family and fiercely protected them. He spent most of his time working to provide and support them. Marcus worked as a millwright at the Nabisco plant in Houston, owned and operated an auto repair shop, and worked for Merit Energy and then Automatic Gas before retiring.
Marcus enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, beekeeping, raising horses, and talking. If you knew him at all, boy, did he love to talk. Marcus never met a stranger or at least not one that was a stranger for long. Marcus absolutely loved and enjoyed spending time with his Grandkids and Great Grandkids.
Marcus was loved and respected by many and will be missed greatly, especially by his family.
