Margaret Weeks Keene, 92, of Alachua, Florida passed away on November 10, 2023. Margaret was born in Alachua, Florida on July 30, 1931 to Clayton and Esther Weeks. Margaret was married to John Richard "J.R." Keene, Sr. for 52 years.She graduated from Alachua High School where she received a high school diploma. Margaret worked as an Insurance Underwriter for the Florida Farm Bureau. She enjoyed cooking, cake decorating, and arts and crafts. She was also actively involved at the New Oak Grove Baptist Church.Margaret is survived by her son, Glen Keene of Alachua, Florida; daughter, Mary K. Sumner of Jacksonville, Florida; grandsons, Kyle (Vickie) Keene of Fort White, Florida and Devin (Olivia) Keene of Alachua, Florida; granddaughters, Kelli Keene (Cameron Bunting) of Lake City, Florida, Kala Keene of Alachua, Florida, Maggie Sumner (Ryan Fleming) of Orlando, Florida, and Emily Sumner of Venice, California; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Idalee Clemons of Alachua, Florida.Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Esther Weeks; husband, J. R. Keene; sons, John Richard "Ricky" Keene, Jr. and Paul Ashley Keene; brothers, Thomas C. Weeks and James M. Scruggs.
