Obituary published on Legacy.com by Grace Memorial Life Celebration Center - Kimball Township on Dec. 11, 2023.
Margaret (Reed) Krueger, a trailblazing entrepreneur and cherished matriarch, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2023, at her daughter's home in Port Huron Township. Born on July 7, 1934, in
Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late George and Helen Reed. Margaret's life was a testament to her selfless, loving, and generous spirit, which touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Margaret's journey began in Detroit, where she grew up with her siblings and developed a strong sense of determination and compassion. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to become one of the few women to own a bridge and road construction company, Le-Mar Construction. Her leadership and resilience paved the way for other women in the industry and left a lasting legacy.
Her commitment to her community was evident through her work with the Democratic Club of Taylor. Margaret found great joy in helping to organize the yearly Easter and Christmas parties, bringing happiness and celebration to the community she loved so dearly. Her efforts were not just acts of service but reflections of her deep-rooted belief in giving back.
Margaret's interests extended beyond her professional life. She was known for her psychic work, which provided guidance and encouragement to many. Her intuitive gifts created joyful memories and fostered a sense of wonder and comfort for her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving children, Kathleen (Jesse) Wilson, Suzanne Strahan, and Kurt Krueger. Her sister, Janet (George) Lang, also remains to cherish her memory. Margaret's legacy continues through her grandchildren, Chris (Bobbie Sue) Young, Amanda Young, Sarah (Raimundo Adame) Bieske, Priscilla Artuso, Catherand (Ryan) Carter, Paige Artuso, Katie Griffen, Jason Wilson, and Aaron Wilson. Her great-grandchildren, Kailee, Myah, Tyler, Rylee, Emory, Torrie, Emilee, Eveliina, Nova, Freya, Grace, and Melody, as well as her great-great-granddaughter, Summer, will forever hold her in their hearts. Margaret also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
Preceding her in death were her sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor and Don Josaitis; her brother, Louis Reed; her sons-in-law, Omer Young and Larry Strahan; and her great-grandson, Christian Young. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she is now reunited with them in eternal peace.
As we say goodbye to Margaret (Reed) Krueger, we celebrate a life well-lived and a woman well-loved. Her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, just as the stars continue to shine even after they have faded from view. Rest in peace, dear Margaret, knowing that your legacy of love and generosity will endure for generations to come.
A celebration of her life will be held in January and will be announced soon. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Grace Memorial Life Celebration Center in Kimball Township.
