A native of Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of Rosario Quinones and Eloise Vera Rosario.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 47 years, Carlos Machuca Sr., and sons, Carlos (Crystal Cutting) Machuca Jr. and Jose (Lori Sleeper) Machuca, and grandchildren, Dante and Izabelah Machuca. She is also survived by her siblings, Maggie Colon, Tony Quinones, Junior Rosario, Carmen Quinones, and Nilsa Quinones, and many nieces and nephews.
Maria was a homemaker who loved to go to church. She loved fishing on the shore with her husband, Carlos, and spending time with him. She was a happy, down-to-earth, kind woman who loved her family and loved children. She enjoyed cooking and having pig roasts with her loved ones. She will be missed.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 18, 2023, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Lanier Funeral and Cremation Services, 717 Griffin Road, Lakeland, FL 33805. A graveside service will follow, at Oak Hill Burial Park, 4620 US HWY 98 South, Lakeland, FL 33812.
