Marian Evangeline (Martin) Zoeller, 79, passed away peacefully December 16, 2022.
Marian was born December 8, 1943, in Louisville, KY. Although she had many short-term part-time jobs throughout her adult life, her main vocation was mother, homemaker and wife. She was a member of St. Polycarp Catholic Church for most of her adult life and attended St. Matthias parish church for a few years until it closed.
Marian was actively involved in the parish at St. Polycarp, volunteering in various roles, but was perhaps best known for the numerous cakes she provided to the cake booth at the summer picnic while her husband, Ken, ran the duck pond. In addition, she was actively involved in Marriage Encounter and the Teams of Our Lady couple's faith formation groups.
Throughout her life, Marian possessed and expressed her love of music. She was an active member of the Louisville Choral Club and played the organ at her parish before and after becoming a wife and mother. Passing her love of music down to her children later allowed her to be actively engaged in supporting the Marching Band at Pleasure Ridge Park High School as a band booster, and Committee Chair for distributing, maintaining and creating uniforms and flags. Later, as an empty nester she became a benefactor for the Butler High School Marching Band. In her later years, she also volunteered to play her keyboard at numerous wakes in the Louisville area.
Marian was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Kenneth Everett Zoeller, by her parents Ed and Francis Martin of Louisville, and her brother, Bela Martin, of Tucson, AZ.
She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Anita and Maurice Stilger of Georgetown, IN, her son and daughter-in-law, Dominic and Amanda Zoeller of Twinsburg, OH (formerly of Midland, MI), her daughter and son-in-law, Monica and Todd Henderson of Louisville, KY, her granddaughters, Shelby and Morgan Zoeller, and grandsons, Spencer and Davis Henderson. She also leaves to cherish her memory numerous nieces and nephews, and brothers- and sisters-in-law.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at Wesley Manor Nursing Home who attended to her needs since September 2020, and expressed their fondness of her and her spicy side.
A celebration Mass honoring Marian will be held in 2023 followed by interment of her remains at a graveside service at St. Andrews Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial gifts to BsideU for Life Pregnancy & Life Skills Center, 701 W. Muhammad Ali Blvd., Louisville, KY 40203 (www.bsideu.org).
