I also had Mrs. Fais in 5th grade 1963. The reason I remember the year is in March of that year my mother passed. When I returned to school after the funeral I was comforted by Mrs. Fais not as a teacher but as a mother. This memory has always stayed with me and always will, rest in peace Mrs. Fais.

Mrs. Fais was my fifth grade teacher in 1979 at Headleads Elementary School. I was one of the flower guides through the forest for the younger grades. I still have my flower guide book that I made. I also had the privilege to going to her home to learn how to make rugs on the loom. She was my favorite teacher ever. She made learning so much fun!!

I learned of Mrs Fais passing through a friend and fellow student of hers, Charlie Sumer. We both valued her kindness, nurturing and teaching skills. I fondly remember the stories she read to us and the lessons about wild flowers that bloomed in spring behind Headlands Elementary. We all have probably had favorite teachers in life - and she was mine. Frankly, I still think of her often and cherish the memory of who she was and all that she did for the children in her care. May her memory be a blessing to us all. Brian Lawicki, Jupiter FL, (5th grade - about 1965)
