Mark Wayne Brittain, 65, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away peacefully at Covered Bridge on August 9, 2025.
Mark was born in Scottsburg, Indiana, to the late Marion C. Brittain and Carolyn Brittain. He attended Seymour High School and later joined the United States Army, proudly serving his country in the 25th Infantry Division. During his service, he began his training in 1977, studying Infantryman/Truck Driver, and was stationed in Waialua, Hawaii. His time in the Army took him abroad, where he traveled to the Gold Coast and Brisbane in Queensland, Australia, before graduating from the 25th Infantry Division.
After his military service, Mark returned home and worked in various local manufacturing jobs. He furthered his education at Vincennes University, studying Industrial Skills in Manufacturing and graduating with the Class of 2008, and at Ivy Tech Community College, where he studied Motoman Robotics and graduated with the Class of 2010. He later retired from Lanett Pharmaceuticals.
In his retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family, being outdoors and camping. He loved riding his motorcycle and turning a wrench. He loved his classic cars and his classic rock.
Mark is survived by his mother, Carolyn Brittain; his son, Codie Brittain; daughters, Ashley Spurgeon and Monica Speer; his life partner Grace Speer; and several grandchildren and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Darryl Brittain and Duane Brittain; his sister, Twilia Brittain; his father, Marion C. Brittain; and Homer Mosley.
Mark will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, and his wisdom. A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.
