Mark Alan Carmichael, 64, of Newnan, GA formerly of McDonough, GA, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025 at home. He was born September 19, 1960 in Atlanta, GA to the late James Abram Carmichael and Edna Weems Carmichael. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, David Charles Carmichael. Mark grew up in Forest Park, GA and was a 1978 graduate of Forest Park High School. After high school he started his career of being a dental technician, eventually opening up his own business Peachtree Porcelain Studio. In 2022 he closed his business. In 2025 he moved to Newnan to be closer to his job. Mark was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved to garden and grow vegetables. He was an avid Bigfoot fan. He loved going to the beach. He was also a big movie watcher with his bowl of popcorn. The memorial service is Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 2PM at Grace Community Fellowship, 75 Roscoe Rd, Newnan, GA 30263, with Reverend Carl Greene officiating. Visitation will be after the service in the Fellowship Hall. The family requests wearing Hawaiian shirts to the service and visitation in his memory. Rather than flowers the family requests memorial contributions to Piedmont Newnan and Guiding Light Hospice for taking such good care of Mark. Condolences can be expressed online at www.mckoon.com Survivors include his wife Dawn Carmichael of Newnan; daughter Debbie Rola of Barnesville, daughter Rachel (Steven) Long of McDonough, son Jacob Carmichael of Griffin, daughter Bethany Carmichael of Newnan; sister Donna Price of Rockmart, brother Jimmy (Louann) Carmichael of Griffin, in Mark's words his "older" sister Cindy (Steve) Carey of McDonough; grandchildren Sydney Rola, Liam Long, and Laci Long; brothers and sisters in law, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.
