Mark Robert Jones, age 65, passed peacefully into heaven on August 10, 2025, with his beloved wife Eileen by his side. He was born May 22, 1960, in Detroit, Michigan to Robert and Margot (Gumpper) Jones. Being the third of four boys, Mark had three brothers: Carl (Jen) Jones, Kurt (Denise) Jones and Dean (Linda) Jones and several nieces and nephews. Mark graduated from Ferndale High School in 1978. He loved working on cars and became an auto mechanic for Goodyear. Mark went to engineering trade school and accepted a job at Ingersoll in Midland. During the move to Midland, his first wife Amy Arnold, was in a fatal car accident. Then Mark met Eileen Watters, who also worked at Ingersoll, and they were married on the Big Island of Hawaii on January 5, 2003, and lived in Porter. He earned an associate's degree in computer science at Delta College and worked as an engineer and CAD designer at several manufacturing companies. Mark was a good man and loving husband, kind, thoughtful and a friend to all. He was very easy-going, laid back and loved to laugh, joke around and have "Good Times with Good Friends". Mark loved dogs and was a caring "doggie daddy" to many rescues over the years. He and Eileen were true Parrotheads, and they had won First Place at Jimmy Buffet contests and parties wearing their attire. He liked muscle cars and antique cars and drove his 1963 Ford Thunderbird in the Woodward Dream Cruise. Mark and Eileen liked to travel and have been to Las Vegas, Florida, Cabo San Lucas, Jamaica and the Bahamas many times, while collecting refrigerator magnets on each vacation. They experienced "The Last Frontier" on an Alaskan cruise to celebrate Mark's 64th birthday. Mark was a die-hard Detroit Lions fan, cheering them on throughout all their losing seasons. He was so excited when they actually had a shot at winning the Super Bowl last season. Mark loved Michigan sports teams, including the Detroit Tigers and Red Wings, Michigan State Spartans, Michigan Wolverines and the Great Lakes Loons baseball team. He enjoyed wearing team gear and displaying his collectibles. In his spare time, Mark enjoyed reading, beating everyone at pool in his basement while listening to oldies music and putting together jig saw puzzles - which he was very good at it.

The Celebration of Life memorial service for Mark Jones will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the Porter Free Methodist Church, 2411 W. Pine River Road, Breckenridge, with Pastor Ron Frederick presiding. Visitation will be held Friday from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the church.
