Marty Meyer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dobbling Funeral Home - Fort Thomas on Aug. 2, 2025.
Martin Alan "Marty" Meyer, age 73, passed away on July 31, 2025. He was comforted by the presence of his loving wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren throughout the day and during the week leading up to his passing, with his pastor offering a final blessing as he peacefully departed.

Marty was born on July 6, 1952, in Covington, Kentucky, to Stephen and Lillie Meyer. A proud graduate of Bellevue High School, he married his high school sweetheart, Cathy, in 1971, and together they raised four children. He was known for his generosity, endless stories, entrepreneurial spirit, and community involvement. Marty was founder and President of M&M Service, Inc./MidValley Supply. He was well known in the Petroleum Equipment Industry, but his success went far beyond the workplace. He served on many Boards, giving back to his community, namely Holly Hill Children's Services and the Shriner's Hospital for Children. He left a lasting impression on all who encountered him and never met a stranger. He was a faithful and proud family man.

Marty is survived by his wife of 54 years Cathy (Sowers) Meyer; children Mickey (Michelle) Meyer of Cold Spring, Sherrie (Rob) Keller of Cold Spring, Robert (April) Meyer of Alexandria, David (Missy) Meyer of Melbourne; grandchildren Matthew (Mackenzie) Meyer, Mason Meyer, Olivia, Ryan, Reed, Andersen Keller, Liam, Lillie, Londyn Meyer, and Seth, Evan Meyer; great grandchildren Mazie and Myles Meyer. Also, his brother James Meyer, sisters Carolyn Colegate, Patsy Boughner, and Linda Saunders and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 10:00am-12:00pm, with the Funeral Service to follow at 12:00pm, Thursday, August 7 th at Main Street Baptist Church in Alexandria, KY. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate. Marty will be dearly missed but forever remembered through the legacy he left behind. He was one of a kind and we will always remember, HE DID IT HIS WAY!

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children, Alzheimer's Association, or Holly Hill Children's Services. Online condolences can be given at dmefuneral.com. Dobbling, Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Homes are serving the family.

I played the card game " 31 " with Marty and his brother for several years on Thursday nights. He was a good friend and will be missed. I am grateful to have taken several pics at the local pub and his business and 'Grandma's' home over years as we played cards and enjoyed each other's company. I am glad to have known Marty and his friends.
