Mary Lou Jaskela, 94, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at the Sanctuary at Geneva. She was the beloved daughter of Wilma and Maurice Sherry of Ashtabula. Mary Lou was united in marriage with Donald W. Jaskela in October 1950, a loving partnership that lasted until his passing in November 1994. Mary Lou is survived by her two daughters, Lisa J. She was a cherished grandmother to Amanda Reshef (Dr. Evan Reshef) of Scottsdale, Arizona, Patrick Bartling of Dallas, Texas, Ashley Tornow (Drew Tornow) of Aurora, Ohio, and Abby Plassard of Painesville, Ohio. I ended up working with Mary Lou back in the 80's with the State, many memories there, and alongside that, I met her also through my in-laws, May and Ray Hill. Mary Lou did care about everyone and Yes, her hometown. Her and Don were a match, so funny, both characters, they made you laugh, and they both showed so much love to other people. Her girls, Jill and Lisa, she spoke so highly of. Mary Lou dressed to the key, everyday, no matter where she went. A very fine lady. Sincerely, Dick and Jane (and our sincere condolences to the family)
