Mrs. Mary Margaret Price Montieth, 72, Scranton, died Wednesday, at Gino Merli Veterans Center, Scranton. She was the loving wife of 26 years married to David Montieth.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Arlene (Shaffer) Price. She was a graduate of West Scranton High School and attended East Stroudsburg University. She was a licensed practical nurse, having graduated from Moses Taylor School of Nursing, Scranton.
Earlier in her career, Mary was known for being a talented seamstress focused on custom wedding gowns.
Mary was devoted to her family and always brought cheerfulness to those around her. Her real passion was the Christmas holiday season. She had a special talent for holiday decorating, making every room pop in holiday spirit. Also surviving, a daughter Danielle Nicholas and her husband Peter, Scranton; a son Eric Martino and his wife, Amanda and Stepson Morgan Montieth, Tunkhannock; two brothers John Price and wife Darlene, St. Petersburg, Florida; Edwin Price and wife Lisa, Masontown, West Virgina; two grandsons, Peter Nicholas, III. and Colten Paul Nicholas both of Scranton; and granddaughter Riley Montieth, Tunkhannock.
Preceded in death is a husband Paul J. Ambrosavage and stepson David Montieth, Jr.
A memorial service will be Saturday at 4 pm at the Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc, 111 Colburn Avenue, Clarks Summit, PA 18411. The family will receive relatives and friends, Saturday 2 pm to 4 pm. Internment Washburn Street Cemetery, private at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to Gino J. Merli Veterans Center, 401 Penn Avenue, 18503.
