Mary Singleton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by St. John's Family Funeral Home & Crematory on May 29, 2024.
Mary Lee Singleton, age 74, a cherished resident of St. Augustine, peacefully passed away on May 28, 2024, at St. Vincent's Riverside in Jacksonville. Born and raised in Jacksonville, Mary's life was a testament to love, devotion, and the simple joys that enrich the human spirit.
After graduating from Englewood High School in 1967, Mary embarked on a journey of love and commitment by marrying her high school sweetheart, Fredrick Singleton, upon his return from service. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, rooted in the bonds of family. They settled in St. Augustine, where they lovingly raised their family and created countless cherished memories.
For over 30 years, Mary dedicated herself to her work as the front desk manager for Ramada, where her diligence and expertise earned her the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike.
Beyond her professional life, Mary found immense joy in nurturing life through her passion for gardening. Whether tending to her bountiful vegetable patch or cultivating vibrant flowers, Mary found solace and fulfillment in the beauty of nature. Her green thumb was a testament to her nurturing spirit and her ability to find joy in life's simplest pleasures.
Mary's memory will forever be cherished by her daughters: Patricia Hanson and husband Dallas of Interlachen, Diane Karnes and husband Russell of Glen St. Mary, FL.; sons, Fredrick Singleton and spouse Paula Lynn, Robert Singleton and wife Cassidy; sister, Sue Fennell (Carlton) and Hilda Forthofer; grandchildren: Stephanie, Dustin, Kaitlyn, Raymond, Hunter, Madalyn, Laine, Bob, Raylynn; and great grandchildren: Eli, Bailey, Summer and Dustin Jr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fredrick Singleton and her parents, Theron and Dorothy Coleman.
A funeral service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at St. Johns Family Funeral Home with a visitation preceding the service from 10-11. Burial will follow at 2pm at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
Though Mary may have departed from this world, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
