Matthew Robert Boswell, age 33, of Talking Rock, Georgia passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024 at his home. He was born October 11, 1990 in Jacksonville, Florida. He graduated from Sequoyah High School and attended Georgia College and State University where he majored in Spanish.
Matthew had a variety of interests including history, opera, and current events. He was a voracious reader, talented writer of poetry and short stories, and was skilled in multiple languages. Witty, unique and kind, Matthew was always unapologetically himself. He was unwaveringly thoughtful and was always there for friends and family in need. He brought joy to all who knew him and will be deeply missed.
Matthew is survived by his mother and stepfather, Joni and Steve Altom of Talking Rock; maternal grandmother, Marion Hamilton of Jacksonville, Florida; cousins, Jeff and Angie Nobles of Georgetown, TX, Audrey Nobles of Boston, and Claire Nobles of Austin, TX. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Harrell Hamilton; his paternal grandmother, Kay Boswell; and paternal aunts Fay Nobles and Peggy Jennings.
Services will be held 3:00 p.m., Sunday, June 30, 2024 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home.
The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Sunday, June 30, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), an organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
