Matthew "Kelly" Bussard

Obituary
He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on June 29, 1960 and went home to Our Lord on March 9, 2023. He graduated from Bishop High School and attended Texas A&I University. He was a jack of all trades from carpet installation to pizza cook but his favorite job was as a brother, uncle and friend.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Johanna and Flynn Dennis and Marshall Bussard; and his brother, William Randall Bussard.
He is survived by his sister, Marsha Jo and James Prukop; his niece, Johanna Marie Prukop-Falcon and Rene Falcon; his nephew, James Randall Prukop; his great nephews, James Lander and John Levi Falcon; his niece, Bonnie R. Saffell and his great nephew, Weylyn Perseus Saffell. He is also survived by numerous extended nieces, nephews and cousins and a group of friends that are his family, all of whom he greatly loved.
A sudden and swift battle with bladder cancer was too much for his earthly body but it never broke his spirit or stole his joy in our Lord Jesus Christ. He truly had a servant's heart, giving everything he could to his friends, loved ones, and his community while never asking for anything in return. He was a man of great integrity that would always be there for people and would go to the ends of the Earth to help and serve others. He was an organ donor and has given someone the gift of sight with a corneal transplant. God Bless them both.
Kelly was a man of many talents, a great musician and magician and entertainer for all ages. He absolutely adored children. Though never able to have any of his own, he had so much love and service for the little ones in his life and brought smiles to so many faces.
One of the most important things about Kelly is that he always sought to be better and to do more, and to grow in his faith with Christ and I pray we can all be a little bit more like Kelly.
