Matthew Evan Oltermann, beloved son and brother, passed away unexpectedly at age 30 at his home in Aledo, Texas, on August 7, 2021.
A visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., on Sunday, August 15, at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, in Weatherford. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, August 16, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Annetta Cemetery in Annetta.
Matthew was born January 28, 1991, in Ogden, Utah, to Mark and Carmelita Oltermann. He was baptized and confirmed at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Amarillo, Texas. Matthew was a 2009 graduate of Aledo High School. Matthew worked as a longtime chef at La Madeleine Restaurant and was thought of highly by all his coworkers. He was a very kind hearted individual and was loved by many. Matthew was an avid gun collector and enjoyed going to the range. His other hobbies revolved around working with his hands, especially woodworking and glass blowing.
Matthew is survived by his parents, Mark and Carmelita Oltermann; his sister, Erika Lee Oltermann; his girlfriend, Stephanie Chambers; and by his maternal grandmother, Lydia Ayala. He is also survived by aunts, Kathryn Oltermann, Edith Kreger, Judy Oltermann, and Olga Leffingwell; uncles, Larry Reynolds, Charles Kreger, and Jim Leffingwell; and many cousins that loved him dearly.
Matthew was preceded in death by his uncle, Steven Oltermann; grandparents, John and Emma Lee Oltermann and Ramiro V. Ayala, Jr.
