Mi Sun Kang

Mi Sun "Sunny" Kang, a beacon of joy and warmth to all who knew her, completed her earthly journey and entered the arms of her Lord and Savior on June 19, 2025, in Fairfax, Virginia. Born on January 15, 1967, in Paju, South Korea, Sunny embodied a spirit of perseverance and compassion that touched the lives of many throughout her 58 years.
Sunny was the light in our lives. Her sense of humor brought laughter in the most mundane moments and in her presence, we were always filled with joy. She inspired young athletes, brought precision and craft to sewing, found peace in gardening, and showered us with love and kindness every day.
Sunny's zest for life was evident in her diverse interests. Her culinary skills were a gift she generously shared, often gathering friends and family around the table for a feast of flavors. A talented photographer and embroiderer, Sunny captured beauty in every form, whether through the lens of her camera or the delicate stitches of her needlework. Her love for travel took her on many adventures with her family, each one an opportunity to embrace new cultures and experiences. Because of Sunny and her passions, her daughters had the privilege to have an upbringing full of unforgettable moments they will carry throughout their lives.
As we bid farewell to Sunny, we celebrate a life lived with purpose, love, and an unwavering faith in God. She was a woman who embodied the fruits of the Spirit, and her memory will continue to inspire and guide us. We hold onto the lessons of kindness, joy, and love she imparted, and we find solace in the knowledge that she rests in eternal peace with her Creator.
