Michael Bergeron

A Life Celebrated, Michael Edward Bergeron Sr., 72, a beloved resident of West Hartford, Connecticut, passed away on September 14th, 2024, surrounded by his family after a brief illness. Born on April 15, 1952, to Clement and Gertrude Bergeron of Windsor Locks, Mike's journey was marked by passion, dedication, and a deep love for those around him.
Mike graduated from Windsor Locks High School and went on to earn both bachelor's and master's degrees from Central Connecticut State University. His thirst for knowledge led him to complete a six-year degree at Nova Southeastern University.
His marriage to Janice Bergeron spanned over five decades, and together they raised three children: Kimberly (Partner Dan Picano), Robin (Husband Michael David), and Michael Jr. (Partner Alice Denny) His role as a devoted grandfather to Emma, Kaitlyn, Rowan, and Theodore brought immense joy to his life. Michael also leaves behind Mother in-law Lillian DiBacco, Brother Robert Bergeron (Wife Diane), Sister Paullette Burnham (husband Fred), Sister in-law Leslie Fahey and Brother in-law Arthur DiBacco (wife Aaron), and many Nieces & Nephews.
Mike's career as an educator began at Berlin High School, but it was at Manchester High School where he truly left his mark. For 25 years, he worked in the Technology Education Department, specializing in woodworking-a passion that he eagerly shared with his students. As a class advisor, he fostered creativity and camaraderie, winning the Homecoming parade float contest four years in a row. Beyond the classroom, Mike reveled in the great outdoors. He was an active member of the East Glastonbury Fish and Game Club, dedicating time to various club roles and earning a lifetime membership. Fly fishing and hunting were more than hobbies-they were his soul's sanctuary. And who could forget his barefoot water-skiing adventures on summer weekends at Rainbow Reservoir?
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the ICU staff at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington for their unwavering support during Mike's illness.
Celebration of Life: Please join us in celebrating Mike's remarkable life at the East Glastonbury Fish & Game Club, Planeta Rd, Marlborough, CT on October 12th from 3:30 to 5:30 pm. Let us remember him with love, laughter, and stories that honor his legacy.
