Michael "Henny" T. Hennessy, 59, passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, October
17, 2024. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Harry J. and Jeanne L. (DeRouville)
Hennessy.
Michael graduated from Christian Brothers Academy, class of 1983. He also attended Hudson
Valley Community College. Michael held positions in both county and state government. He
was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and a fan of any team that would beat the Yankees.
In addition to his parents, Michael was predeceased by his sister, Suzanne Hennessy.
He is survived by his daughter, Diandra Hennessy, whom he shared with Claudette Hennessy.
He loved his daughter immensely. His siblings, Jeanne Hennessy and Michele Reedy. Nieces
Erin Hennessy and Kathleen Hennessy. Nephews Brian Reedy and James Reedy and a host of
great nieces and nephews. He enjoyed his life in sobriety for the past several years with his
partner, Vikki Gates-Williams.
Memorial services will be held Friday, November 1, 2024 at 6 pm at the Meyers Funeral Home,
741 Delaware Avenue, Delmar. The family will receive relatives and friends Friday, 6-7 pm prior
to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in Michael's name to Second Chance
Opportunities, Inc., 55 Colvin Avenue, Albany.

i last saw mike in 2016 at jonathan's pizza when i was visiting my brother. he was on my baseball team in 1978. he batted after me and i would tell him if i get to first base take the first pitch because i'm going to steal second

Everyone that reading this will know First Street. All the people that read this will know what I speaking on the great times we had with Mike and great times we shared. Mike you definitely will be missed. Prayers goes out to your family.

I was very impressed with Mike's devotion to his partner , his recovery and how he wanted to make all around him feel comfortable. His sense of humor and big smile left a lasting impression. I'm sure he will not be forgotten and his kindness and devotion will be what I remember the most.

Didn't know Mike well, but always looked up to him as one of the older kids at the St. Patrick's summer program every year. Much respect to him for taking those tough steps in recovery.
