Michael E. Hudak, age 65 of Wilmington, DE, passed away with loved ones by his side on Tuesday, July 9, 2024.
He was born and raised in Wilmington and is the son of the late Stella and John Hudak. Michael attended and graduated from The Bush School. He was a member of the FOE #74 and The Moose Lodge.
Michael was one of a kind. He was known all around town as the "Mayor" of Gordon Heights. If you ever met Mikey, you certainly will have a good story.
In his earlier years, he enjoyed delivering the newspaper, talking to everyone, and occasionally found napping at one or many of the neighbors' houses. He enjoyed riding his bicycle all over town waving and saying, " Hi my Friend"! Michael also enjoyed food; especially seafood, but crabs were his favorite. Mikey was very special to all of us, he will surely be missed, but we thank him for giving us a million stories and sayings that all make us smile and laugh out loud.
He is survived by his siblings, Bob Hudak, Patty Hudak, Catherine (Haffy) Steinberg (Mike), and his 4 nieces that he adored, Erica, Liz, Brookie, and Madison. Michael is also preceded in death by his brothers Larry and Johnny.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 16 from 9 am to 10 am at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Homes, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE where a funeral service will follow at 10 am. Burial will be at Gracelawn Memorial Park.
