Michael J. Musto

Michael J. Musto, age 73, of Mashpee, MA, died on January 26, 2023 at McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich, MA after battling cancer. He was the beloved husband of Susan J. (Labute) Musto, with whom he shared 47 wonderful years of marriage.
Mike was born on June 17, 1949 to the late John J. Musto and Camilla L. (Petrillo) Musto in Attleboro, MA. He grew up in Mansfield, MA where he graduated from Mansfield High School. Following high school, Mike worked in liquor and wine sales where he spent 35 years with Horizon Beverage. While not native to the cape, Mike and his wife have been Mashpee residents for the last 50 years. The couple became an integral part of the Mashpee community, owning and operating Trevi Cafe and Wine Bar in the Mashpee Commons from its grand opening until December of 2021.
When Mike was not working, he and his family liked to travel, going on family vacations to Turks and Caicos and Italy were some of his favorite destinations. Closer to home, Mike loved spending time at the family home in New Hampshire. He was an active guy, and loved doing anything outdoors, including snowmobiling, boating, fishing, and hunting. Mike was charismatic and genuine, and could walk into any room and strike up a meaningful conversation. He could easily make friends and lifelong connections both professionally and personally. More than anything, Mike loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Mike is survived by his wife Susan J. Musto, of Mashpee, MA; his daughters Chelsea Musto Potter, and her husband Martin, of Falmouth, MA, and Andrea Musto Read, and her husband Ryan, of Falmouth, MA; his brother Robert Musto, of Osterville, MA; and his beloved grandchildren Andrew Read, Logan Read, and Camilla Potter, all of Falmouth.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 from 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM at Chapman Funerals and Cremations, 74 Algonquin Ave. (RTE 151), in Mashpee. A funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home at 12:30 PM.
