I loved talking baseball with Mike. He always made me smile and his stories were the best. Still miss him. Reg

I remember first meeting Mike and Pat as a new instructor pilot at Craig. We were both fresh back from Vietnam tours. Mike was a flight commander and I was an Academic instructor. As such, I could attach myself to any flight on the line to instruct. Naturally I picked Mikes outfit. Mike had an easy going personality that just made folks want to please. Don´t get me wrong. He suffered no fools, but he led by strong example and everyone loved him. There were many good times together. A bend in the Alabama River called "little Miami" stands out as a place we went to more than once for flight parties. God, those were good times.
When I flew F4´s, on my second tour, here came Mike one day. He was back for more as were a number of us. We laughed and joked and just enjoyed each others company again many times. As the war wound down, he and I were in a flight of four Phantoms returning planes clear accross the Pacific to Homestead in Florida.
We kept touch over the years. Sadly we were only able to get together one time, but I always counted on his newsy Christmas card, every year.
God speed old friend. The rest of us will be along in due course.

Fifty-seven years ago this month my wife Sherry and I were newlyweds living in our first apartment in Victorville, California. The apartment was unfurnished and we had no furniture and very little money. Mike and Pat not only helped us with some furniture they were ready to discard but invited us to their home for many pleasurable evenings. Our time with them that spring and summer got us off to a good start and gave us many great memories that we still cherish. Rest In peace Mike.

Mike and I met as navigators prior to going to Craig AFB in pilot school. We stayed together for 8 bases until he got shot down at Cam Rahn Bay in Viet Nam.
In UPT, we planned a rendezvous in T-37s and departed our Assigned areas and flew in formation to the Biloxi Naval storage for old ships and flew back to our areas as if all was well. We never told a sole. We could have been kicked out of UPT!!!!
