Obituary of Michelle Janice Sherlock
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Michelle J. Sherlock, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Michelle left this world on August 28, surrounded by her family, after bravely battling pulmonary fibrosis.
Michelle was born on June 4, 1964 in Hollywood, Florida, where she grew up. She graduated from Madonna Academy High School in 1982. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Stetson University, and then a Master of Science in Early Childhood Growth and Development and a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership, both from Nova Southeastern University.
She spent her working career in education bettering the lives of students and staff with a smile and good word. Michelle initially taught Exceptional Education, Kindergarten, Second, Third, and Sixth grades, then moved to administration as an Assistant Principal. She loved supporting her school communities, from Palm Bay Elementary, Discovery Elementary, Ocean Breeze Elementary, Indialantic Elementary, Sunrise Elementary, and most recently at Holland Elementary.
Michelle had a special kind of magic and infectious laugh that brightened any room. Her warm spirit and infinite kindness and generosity were evident to everyone who knew her. She had a wonderful sense of humor that could turn even the darkest days into moments of joy. Over the years, Michelle often sang her version of Sweet Gypsy Rose to her siblings' delight. Michelle's love for cats, puzzles, plums, Disney, Starbucks, and family brought her immense happiness, and she shared that joy with those lucky enough to be in her company.
While she was not lucky enough to receive a life-giving transplant, she made sure as her last action to donate, providing the gift of life to others.
Her loving memory will be living through her three sons, Michael, Anthony, and Raymond, and her beloved granddaughter Kylee. Michelle is also survived by her favorite siblings,, and. She is deeply missed by all.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023 at Beach Funeral Home, 1689 S. Patrick Drive, Indian Harbour Beach, with visitation commencing from 2 pm to 4 pm and a small service at 3 pm. Dress is casual & joyously colorful.
Michelle truly was the best of us. May she rest in the sweetest peace. May the rest of us live like Michelle's example.
