Mickie Ann Thatcher, 66, a cherished resident of Lake County for many years, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2024. Born in Washington DC to Oscar and Thelma Gosnell, Mickie eventually made Lake County her home and graduated from Mundelein High School.
Above all else, Mickie found joy in her family. She was a devoted mother who treasured her children and embraced her role as a grandmother, actively participating in her grandchildren's lives. Mickie had a zest for life, appreciating simple pleasures like a beautiful sunset. She and her beloved husband, Edward, shared a passion for classic cars and traveled to many car shows together.
A social butterfly at heart, Mickie loved her lunches with friends and the camaraderie they brought. She had a fondness for country music, the festive spirit of the holidays, and cooking delicious meals for her family. Mickie was inseparable from her husband Ed and her faithful chihuahua companion, Max.
Mickie will be remembered for her genuine spirit and the love she shared with those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Mickie is survived by her daughter Ashlie (Don O'Conner) mother to Keegan, Righley, Isabella and Bayleigh and her sons Adam (Eve) father to Victoria and Aaron (Ulia) father to Ocean and Nova; her brother Greg Gosnell and sister Mistie Farrell. She is preceded in death by the love of her life Ed, her parents and her sisters Cindy and Timmie.
Visitation for Mickie will be from 4:00 – 8:00 pm on Tuesday Nov 26th at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Pl, Libertyville. Funeral service for Mickie will be at 12 noon on Wednesday Nov 27th at McMurrough Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Willow Lawn Cemetery, Vernon Hillls. Funeral info (847) 362-2626
