MUNCIE – Mildred E. Lyons, 98, passed away on Monday morning, September 16, 2024 at Morrison Woods Health Campus.
She was born on November 3, 1925 in Delaware County, the daughter of Clyde J. and Erie L. (Ross) Huffman and she graduated from Cowan High School in 1943. She married the love of her life, William A. Lyons on June 22, 1946 in Muncie.
She worked for Borg Warner Automotive for 25 years until her retirement in 1987 and was a lifetime member of Corinth Global Methodist Church.
Mildred was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving are three children, Vickie Collins (Bob), Randy Lyons (wife, Patty) and Linda Ghumm (Jesse); six grandchildren, Kristi Studebaker (Kyle), twins, Lindsey and Laura Lyons, Misha Centeno, Brent Kingen (Ali) and Eric Kingen (Ali); and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 51 years, William A. Lyons on September 5, 1997; two grandsons, Nick Collins and Dustin Lyons; five brothers and five sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2024 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, with Pastor Chris Roberts officiating. Burial will follow services at Tomlinson Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Corinth Global Methodist Church, 3210 W. County Road 400 South, Muncie, Indiana, 47302.
