Milton R Dunaway, 70 of Jayess, MS passed away Thursday, April 3, 2025. He was born Friday, October 15, 1954 in Tylertown, MS to the late Felder and Bernita Dunaway. Along with his parents he is also preceded in death by his sister Vanessa King.
Visitation will be held at Enon Baptist Church, Hwy 583 North, Jayess, Mississippi on Sunday, April 6, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Monday, April 7, 2025 from 1:00 PM until service time at 2:00 PM with Bro. Ronnie Purser and Bro. Tommy Boyd officiating. Capps Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Milton was a longtime member of Enon Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years. He was a member of the Enon Fire Department where he served as their secretary and he was a member of the Masonic Pine Lodge 383. Mr. Milton also worked for the county as a Road Maintenance Foreman up until his retirement in 2017. He enjoyed making cane syrup, fishing, farming, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Beverly Cutrer Dunaway; son, Brad Dunaway (Danelle); daughter, Melissa Thornhill (John); grandchildren, Lauren Dunaway and Brayden Thornhill; nephews, Austin King and Joseph King (Tera); great nephew, Asher King; great niece, McKenna King; brother-in-law, Homer King; sister-in-law, Gail Pennington; along with a host of friends and loving family. Pallbearers will be Jerry Boyd, Homer King, Joseph King, Lynn Harvey, Dan Hawn, and Travis Fairburn. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Enon Baptist Church; Jessie Pigott, Alton Harvey, Vernon Alford, Clifton "Pop" Carr, Brayden Thornhill, and Austin King.
