Minnie Lue Medlin Williams passed away peacefully, following and accident on Friday, November 7 th , 2025.

Minnie was born on February 11, 1941 to John Marion and Gladys Medlin in Chickasha, OK. She was the fourth of five

children and their only child born in a hospital. Minnie graduated Chickasha High School in 1959 and was a member of

the Pep squad. She worked briefly for Pool Mortgage Company as a legal secretary then went on to college at

Northeastern State University and also graduated University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science

degree.

She married Lt. Jerry W. Williams in May 1970. His career in the Army took them many places including Texas, North

Carolina and Germany. They welcomed their daughter, DeShane, in 1978. Once he began to prepare for retirement

they settled in Marlow Oklahoma.

They moved to their property in 1972 and completed their dream home in 1983. Once they settled in Marlow, Minnie

worked for the Stephens County School District and Velma Alma schools as a speech pathologist and special education

teacher until her retirement in 1998. Many of her long term friends are from her teaching days.

Minnie was a leader in the Marlow Community and started the Marlow Bridge Club, which is still active today. She

helped start local events including the Marlow after prom lock-in and the Goldline Winter Classic livestock show, both

still happening today.

Her favorite pastime was playing party or duplicate bridge with any other card game as a very close second! At one time

she was active in bridge clubs in Chickasha, Duncan, Lawton, and Oklahoma City. She even traveled all over the US

competing in bridge tournaments.

She never met a stranger and took great joy in feeding anyone that stopped by her home. She was a great cook and

loved breaking bread with friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Gladys Medlin, sisters Margie E. Medlin, Velma Cavin and husband,

Ronald, brother Johnny, Jr and wife Mary, and brother Bobby and wife Vicki.

She is survived by Jerry her husband of 55 years and daughter, DeShane, as well as many beloved cousins, nieces,

nephews and friends.

Her family expresses gratitude to all that loved Minnie and were part of her life. She loved to entertain and make

people smile.
