Neil F. Chase Sr., 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on February 10, 2025, in Schenectady, New York. Born on December 31, 1947 to his late parents, Theodore F. And Eva (Dame) Chase in Moira, New York. Neil's journey through life was marked by devotion to his family, service to his country, and his unwavering spirit.
Neil's early years were spent in his hometown of Nicholville, New York. In 1965, he entered the United States Navy, proudly serving on the salvage ship USS Hoist. His time in the Navy instilled in him a deep respect for hard work and commitment-a trait he carried throughout his life. Following his honorable discharge in 1968, Neil embarked on a new chapter, marrying the love of his life, Barbara, on October 4, 1969.
Neil and Barbara began their greatest journey as parents before moving to Glenville in 1979 and raising their children in the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake CSD. Neil's dedication to his loved ones was evident in every aspect of his life, and he often expressed that his family was his greatest achievement.
For over 40 years, he worked for Verizon as a lineman. Neil's interests and hobbies were as varied as they were joyful. He and Barbara began wintering in Florida in 2011, making their home in Jensen Beach, while many summers were spent in the serenity of Schroon Lake and Wakonda in the stunning Adirondack Mountains. Neil enjoyed bowling, tennis, ping pong, horseshoes, and softball. His love for travel was matched only by his appreciation for a cold Pabst Blue Ribbon and the thrill of cheering on his favorite sports teams, the Colts and the Cardinals.
Predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Barbara A. Chase, and his brothers Edmond (Marjorie), Theodore, Caleb (Nancy), and Wayne Chase, Neil's memory is carried on by his devoted children: Melissa Beaudoin and her husband George III, Debra Chase, and Neil F. Chase Jr. and his wife Jodi; his sister, Ann Marie (Dominic) Friello, and sister-in-law, Marsha Chase; cherished grandchildren-Kristy (Brett) Dugas, Beth Chase, Brandon Beaudoin, James and Allison Bartley, and Samantha and Edmond Chase-will remember their grandfather as a beacon of love and guidance. Neil is also survived by many nieces and nephews, each of whom will carry forward a piece of his enduring spirit.
Calling hours will be held at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd., on Friday, February 14th, from 5 to 7 PM. Burial with military honors at Memory Gardens Cemetery on Saturday, February 15th, at 10:30 AM, where he will be laid to rest with his beloved wife.

Thoughts and prayers to all on Neil´s passing. We fondly remember family camping trip with work crew on board and lodging assignment to Cobleskill. He was always upbeat and happy.
