Nigel Ian Becker
September 18th, 1989 – December 3rd, 2023
Nigel Ian Becker (N.I.B. aka Nigey-B), a remarkably wonderful and unique son, brother, friend, and goof master to all, left us and gained his wings December 3rd, 2023.
He carried his heart of gold on his sleeve, pouring love and laughter into every being he had the pleasure of coming across. No babies left un-kissed, no animals left un-petted, and most certainly no rock and roll song left un-sung.
Nigel, a man of spontaneity, a boy of wonder, and lover of all things bright. Kind, curious, and deep. Queen is his favorite band and Michigan is his favorite basketball team. Video games, one of his favorite pass-times, and swimming when summer rolled around. He had an affinity for the ladies (Hubba Hubba) and would steal the show whenever there was a chance to boogie down.
He was born at the University of Michigan to his rockstar parents Kris and Deb (White) Becker on September 18th, 1989. He attended Porter Center in his youth, continuing his education through to graduate from Adrian High School in 2008, participating in a multitude of events including work with LISD and volunteer groups. Nigel worked several places throughout his life including Goodwill and Red Lobster. He loved riding the bus and his bus drivers.
Nigel, a veteran Special Olympics athlete, participated in county and statewide games where he received ribbons in track & field, basketball, and several other different events. Nigel's passion also carried into bowling, where he regularly participated in one of his favorite weekend activities along with his Bowling Buddies, all of whom he loved.
Nigel, being an avid member of the Hope Community Center, adored his friends and teachers, most of which he grew up with throughout life. Nigel participated and played with the Hoopsters basketball team for many years, basketball being another passion he continuously enjoyed, also attending Hot Rock. He attended every dance he could that Hope hosted, always guaranteeing his favorite dance move "The Worm."
His beautiful soul and his impact will be forever remembered. We could only ever strive to feel as truly and as fully as he did.
Left to continue his legacy, sister Shelby Becker, grandpa Sonny (Harold) Becker, aunts Sheri (Roy) Sanchez and Robin Cannon, along with several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death and reunited with parents Kris and Deb (White) Becker, family dog Cole, grandparents, Nancy Becker, Wilma Schmitz, and John White, and great grandparents Nellie and Silver Campbell.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
