Norma (Stoddard) Robeson passed away late Thursday evening, February 20, 2025 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital in Cambridge, Nebraska. She was 99 years of age.
She was born December 13, 1925 to Elmer and Cis (Ogorzolka) Stoddard, on a farm southeast of Cambridge, NE. As a young girl she worked at the Midget Cafe for years.
On April 20, 1944, she met Jack Robeson who was home on leave from Fort Bragg, NC. He was a paratrooper in World War II. They were married April 26, 1944. When the war was over, he came home and they settled in Holbrook, NE where they were in the trucking business for over 40 years. They had two children: Raymond and Roma.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Cis Stoddard; her husband, Jack Robeson; son, Raymond; brothers, Bob Stoddard and Sailor Stoddard; sister Maxine Mcay; and a great-grandson, Lane Sanders.
Norma is survived by her daughter, Roma Ward; three grandsons, Shane, Cody and Chance Sanders; granddaughter, Tahnee and Sean Baker; and six great-grandchildren; brother Jim (Jean) Stoddard in Loudon, TN; nephews, Terry (Barb) Stoddard of Cambridge, NE, and Randy Ohlson of Newark, AR.
Visitation we be held from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge.
Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Wednesday morning, February 26, 2025 at the Holbrook Cemetery in Holbrook, Nebraska.
Memorials are suggested to the family of Norma Robeson for future designation. Online condolences may be left at lockenour.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lockenour-Jones Mortuary of Cambridge.
