In Loving Memory of Pat Galloway Onnen

Pat Galloway Onnen, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on June 17, in Louisville, KY, surrounded by her loving family. Pat leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and generosity that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Born to Dennie and Fern Galloway, Pat carried with her the values of kindness, compassion, and family. She found joy in painting, expressing her creativity through colors that mirrored the vibrancy of her spirit. Her happiest moments were spent surrounded by family, laughing, sharing stories, and making memories that will forever be cherished.

Pat’s love for children extended beyond her own family, as she dedicated herself to helping the most vulnerable as a substitute teacher. She also gave her time as a hospital volunteer, providing comfort and care for those in need. Her selfless acts of service touched countless lives, embodying the true spirit of generosity.

She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, James Onnen; her devoted daughter, Tammy Smith (Keith); stepchildren, Jeff Onnen (Linda), John Onnen (Julie), Betsy Singh (Tony); her sister, Nancy Pawley (Bob); her brother, Gary Galloway (Judy) and sister-in-law Betty Galloway. Her nine grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews will continue to carry her love forward.

Pat was preceded in death by her cherished son, Wes Lewis; her brother, Roy Galloway; and her parents, Dennie and Fern Galloway. She is now reunited with them, as well as many adored aunts and uncles who welcomed her with open arms.

A celebration of Pat’s life will take place on June 25, 2025, at Memorial Gardens East. Family Visitation is scheduled for 11am – Noon; Open visitation Noon – 2pm; with her service to follow immediately after at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (Alzfdn.org) or BIKE4ALZ (Bike4alz.org) in her honor.

Pat’s kindness, passion, and unwavering love will never be forgotten. She will be deeply missed, but her light will shine on through the many lives she touched.

The family would like to give special thanks to the care team at both Hallmark House and Norton Brownsboro Hospital for the loving care they showed Pat throughout her stays.
