Patricia A. Orozco, a beloved nursing teacher and cherished matriarch, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025, in Harvey, Louisiana. Born on February 16, 1943, in Port Arthur, Texas, Patricia lived a life dedicated to service, family, and education that touched the hearts of many.
As a nursing teacher for the Jefferson Parish School Board, Patricia devoted herself to educating future healthcare professionals. Her legacy in academia is marked by her nurturing spirit and her commitment to fostering the growth of her students, instilling in them the values of compassion and care. She embodied the essence of a dedicated teacher, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to learn from her.
Patricia's greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She loved making memories with her grandchildren, Kolby Chase Hanley, Christopher Peyton Orozco, Elise Jacqueline Orozco, and Kaden Anthony Hanley. They brought laughter and light into her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Her caring personality extended beyond her role as an educator. She was known for her love of family, creating a warm and welcoming home for her loved ones. Patricia will be remembered for the kindness she showed to everyone around her, lending an ear or a helping hand whenever needed.
Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Edward Orozco, her parents, Joseph and Frances Adams, and her brother, Joseph Adams, Jr. She is survived by her loving daughter, Patty Ann Orozco Hanley and her husband, Anthony, of Harvey, Louisiana, her sons, Edward Orozco, III of Harvey, Louisiana, and Christopher Derrick Orozco of Harvey, Louisiana. Additionally, she leaves behind her dear brother, Carlos Joel Adams of Houston, Texas and several loving nieces and nephews.
Family, friends, and loved ones are invited to commemorate Patricia's life and work. The services will be held at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 5601 39th St., Groves Texas. A Rosary and Visitation will take place on June 29, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Her Funeral Service will follow on June 30, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, located at 4100 Lincoln Avenue in Groves, Texas, beginning at 10:00 AM and a graveside service will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas.
Patricia A. Orozco’s legacy will endure through the countless memories she created and the love she shared with her family and friends. Her spirit will continue to inspire those she touched throughout her life.
