Pat Nelson, 73, of Mogadore, passed away peacefully at home on May 1, 2025. He was born on August 24, 1951 in Akron, Ohio to Robert and Mildred Nelson. He graduated from Hudson High School in 1969. He worked for IUOE Local 18 for over 40 years as a crane operator, and also recently worked part-time as a bus driver and mechanic at Waterloo High School.
Pat was a dedicated and hardworking man with a passion for tinkering. Whether it was cars, tractors, or engines, he was always rebuilding something and eagerly searching for his next project. He especially loved sharing his vast knowledge, most of all with his grandson, Jackson
Pat was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his son, Patrick Nelson Jr.,; daughter, Angela Combs; grandchildren, Jackson Nelson and Aaron Combs Jr.; siblings, Robert (Judy) Nelson, Michael (Debbie) Nelson, Linda (Doug) Kress, Gena Allen, and Ann Cash; significant other, Dorenda Bracken; and beloved dog, Macy.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the Randolph Community Center, from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to drop in throughout the afternoon to share food, memories, and stories in honor of a life well-lived. A brief commemorative service will take place toward the end of the gathering.
