Paul Daniel Barnhill, 84, passed away on June 17, 2025, in his home in Triangle, Virginia.
Paul is survived by his wife of 46 years, Susette Riche Barnhill, and their blended family; son Jerry Barnhill (Lisa) and daughter Debra Jensen (Ken). Susette's sons John Beasley (Michelle), and Jai Beasley (Laura), ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Paul was born in Meridian, Mississippi, the youngest of fifteen children born to Obera and Hernando Barnhill and was the last of the surviving siblings, joining the Barnhill Reunion in Heaven.
Paul's military career began with the Mississippi Air National Guard in 1958. In 1963 he transitioned over to active duty with the U.S. Air Force and retired as a Chief Master Sergent from duty at the Pentagon in 1991. His duty assignments included bases in Vietnam, Okinawa, England (3), The Netherlands and states of Colorado, Indiana, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi and Virginia. In1992, Paul started a new chapter of his life when he joined the Department of Defense Human Resources Management Team and worked until retirement in 2004.
Paul was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved to spend time with his family. His love for travel took him to many countries of the world where he was always ready to embrace new cultures and adventures with open arms. It was his vibrant spirit, his sense of humor and his unique sayings that truly made him the life of the party. Friends and family will always remember him as a person who brought laughter and warmth to every room he entered.
Paul spent the last fifteen years of his life battling Parkinson's Disease and Lewy Body Dementia. Even as his disease progressed and he was leaving us little by little, he remained, as always, a gracious, good-natured, and dignified presence in his house and in our lives.
His interment will be at the National Memorial Cemetery at Quantico in Prince William County, Virginia.
