Paul Caudill, a cherished patriarch and beacon of faith, has been called home by the Lord on February 25, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on July 24, 1931, in the humble town of Hotspot, Kentucky, Paul's journey through life was a testament to his unwavering spirit and devout heart. He departed from this world in Caro, Michigan, leaving behind a legacy of love and wisdom.
Paul was a man who walked in the footsteps of the Lord, shepherding his flock with love and dedication when he had served as pastor for Mammoth Baptist Church in Utica. His life was a reflection of the scripture, "Well done, good and faithful servant" (Matthew 25:23). He guided his congregation with a gentle hand and a passionate soul, touching the lives of many with his wise counsel and faith-filled sermons. He later attended the First Baptist Church of North Branch with his family and friends. Paul had served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corp.
He was a beloved father to his children, Peter Caudill, Pat (Larry) Jones, and Lanette Caudill. His legacy continues to bloom through his 11 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and a cherished great-great-grandchild. Paul was preceded in death by his devoted parents, James and Lola Caudill, children: Diann Fuson, Paul Caudill Jr., John Caudill and his loving wife, Lois, with whom he now rejoices in eternal union.
Paul's interests were as rich and varied as the tapestry of his life. In his younger years, he found joy in the freedom of running, feeling the wind as a companion to his thoughts. Later, he turned to woodcarving, where his hands crafted creations as intricate and unique as the stories he shared from the pulpit.
Those who knew Paul would describe him as a wise man, whose faith was as solid as the ancient oaks of Kentucky. He was passionate in all his endeavors, embodying the true spirit of a southern gentleman and preacher. His words were a comfort, his prayers a shield, and his presence a constant reminder of God's love.
Private services have been held at Jansen Family Funeral Home – Columbiaville. Paul was laid to rest next to his wife Lois in Utica Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Paul may be made to the First Baptist Church of North Branch. Share memories, condolences, and pictures with the family at www.jansenfuneralhome.com.
