Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dolan Funeral Home - North Chelmsford on Aug. 13, 2025.
Paul Phillip Pearsall, 91, of Lowell, MA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 10, 2025, after a period of declining health. He spent his final days at the family home, where he and his late wife had raised their five children, receiving visits from many of his friends and surrounded by his loving family.
He was the beloved husband of 41 years of the late Miriam "Mimi" (Ryan) Pearsall, who predeceased him 22 years earlier to the day on August 10, 2003.
Born in Lowell on April 18, 1934, Paul was the son of the late William T. Pearsall, Jr. and Esther (Fox) Pearsall. He was the stepson of Catherine "Kay" (Sheedy) Pearsall. He graduated from Lowell High School with the Class of 1951, and from Greater Lowell Vocational High School with the Class of 1953. He went on to earn an Associate of Science from Lowell Technological Institute, and later a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology from Northeastern University. He also completed the Masters course in Education at Northeastern University.
Paul proudly served his Country in the United States Navy and was a Veteran of the Korean War. His career included work as an Industrial Engineer with Raytheon, GTE, and RCA before retiring in 1992 from Digital Corporation.
A devoted man of faith, Paul was a communicant of St. Margaret of Scotland Parish in Lowell, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister, Council Member and St. Vincent de Paul Society member. He was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Bishop Rocco Council; a member of the Secular Franciscan Third Order, St. Elizabeth Province; and a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, Merrimack Valley. Paul also volunteered with the Lowell Police Department, giving back to the community he loved.
Throughout his life, Paul enjoyed traveling and spending time with his large family and numerous friends. He was a devoted brother, cousin and everyone's favorite, "Uncle Paul". His travels took him to the Vatican and Holy Land; the land of his ancestors in Ireland; and the Kinch family in the mountains of Colorado. And his greatest joy came from his time spent with his grandchildren in New York, Massachusetts and Vermont, for holidays and cheering on their sporting events, school musicals and graduations. Anyone who knew Paul knew that he was an avid Patriots fan and a voracious reader!
Paul is survived by his children: Janet and her husband Paul Sistare of Rhinebeck, NY; William and his wife Alexandra Pearsall of Dover, MA; Mark Pearsall and his husband Paul Trubey of Lebanon, CT; Michael and his wife Jennifer Rivers of Woodstock, VT; and Paula and her husband Timothy Gearan of Lowell, MA. He was the cherished Grampa of Alex and Kathryn Sistare; Aidan, Eliot, and Owen Pearsall; and Maggie Rose Gearan.
Paul is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Sandra Ryan of
Tewksbury, MA, and Robert and Eileen Ryan of Hopkinton, MA; his two sisters-in-law, Margaret "Peggy" Ryan and Paula (Ryan) Malavich, both of Lowell; as well as his many loving cousins, nieces and nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, Paul is predeceased by his hero and brother, Rev. William T. Pearsall, and beloved sister, Elizabeth "Betty" (Pearsall) Kinch; and his three brothers-in-law, Raymond Kinch, Edward J. Ryan, and William P. Malavich. He was also the nephew of the late Rev. Ernest Pearsall and Sr. Mary (Ernest) Pearsall.
