On November 12, 2025 Paula Nell Nicholson took her final breath surrounded by all of her family.
Paula was born on January 20, 1936 in Wewoka, OK to Joe and Margaret Roebuck. She grew up in Talihina, OK and as an adult she moved to Oklahoma City where she met her husband, Charles Ray Nicholson on a blind date. They married on June 6, 1959 and were married for 51 years before Charles passed away on July 8, 2010. Paula attended business school and worked as a Secretary at the State Capital in the Agricultural Department. After many years of being a stay-at-home Mom she returned to work and worked for Grace Living Centers in Del City for many years for the HR Department before finally retiring.
Paula enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was very active in her church at Nicoma Park United Methodist church where she attended for 58 years. She enjoyed attending all of the church conferences and attended her final one last month. If there was any social event, she wanted to be there. Anyone that knew her always said how sweet she was and was always smiling.
Paula is survived by her Son, Greg Nicholson and girlfriend Luci Gratch; her daughter Nanci Noakes and her husband Michael Noakes; her Sister Mary Jo Dudley; her 5 grandchildren Maegan, Randi and her husband John Stuart IV, Shelbi and her husband Denton, Hanna and her Husband Austin, and Derek; her 6 great grandchildren Charli, John Stuart V, McGowin, Paislee, Samuel, and Declan. Her family was truly the joy of her life.
Funeral Services will be held at Nicoma Park United Methodist Church at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 17, 2025. In Lieu of Flowers Mother requested donations be made to St. Jude’s Hospital where she made monthly donations for many years.
