Paula Kay Self

Our beloved daughter, Paula Kay, entered into her heavenly home on November 7, 2022.
Paula was born July 2, 1967. She is survived by her parents, Norman and Lynda Self of Kernersville, NC and her brothers Lee (Cindy) of Oak Ridge, NC and David (DoKyung) of Morrisville, NC, three nieces, three nephews, and seven great nieces.
Paula graduated from East Forsyth High School and attended Forsyth Technical Community College. Paula joined First Presbyterian Church, Kernersville, NC on April 8,1979. She was active in the youth group and was a junior Sunday School teacher. Paula was a quiet and spiritual person with deep faith.
She was loved by her seven aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins that she grew up with. The annual summer trip to Springmaid Beach, SC with this large family group, which was always scheduled the 3rd week of June, was the highlight of her year since early childhood. There was a loving close bond that existed between them that has lasted throughout all their adulthood. She was cherished, and her joyful happy fun-loving spirit will be missed by the entire family.
Paula enjoyed her ballet, gymnastic, and tap dance classes during her early school years, but as an adult she loved gardening, decorating, music, and reading, but her passion was caring for animals, especially stray cats that she rescued and loved.
A private family service will be held. In lieu, of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, Kernersville, NC. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
