Penny Lynn (Siers) McCune, aged 78, of Orrville, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 6, 2024, surrounded by her loving family after a period of declining health.
Penny was born on January 30, 1946, in Minnora, West Virginia, to the late Leon and Freda (DeWeese) Siers. She went to Calhoun County High School and later married her beloved husband, Darrel, on December 18, 1962, in Shock, West Virginia. Darrel survives her, cherishing the 61 years they shared together.
Penny worked as a cashier at Buehler's Fresh Foods in Orrville for ten years and continued her employment at J.M. Smucker Company for twenty-three years until her retirement in 2007. Known for her dedication and warm spirit, she was a valued presence in her workplaces and community.
A devoted member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and the Medina Honeytown Sam's RV Club, Penny enjoyed a life filled with faith, family, and friendship. Her favorite pastimes included camping, reading, shopping, and doing word searches, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness.
Penny is lovingly remembered by her children: Terry (Didi) McCune of Smithville, Tamara (Michael) Hall of Ashland, Patricia (Ronald) Marty of Wooster, and Jeff (Kara) McCune of Dalton. She leaves behind seven grandchildren-Ashley, Zak (Jill), Hayley (Michael), Sara (Andrew), Morgan, Drew, and Mason-and five great-grandchildren-Carter, Amelia, Blake, Reese, and Tre. She is also survived by her sister, Ruth (Jerry) Cottrell of West Virginia; brother, Perry Siers of West Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Tyler Dean McCune, as well as three brothers and five sisters.
Friends may call on Monday, November 11, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 7605 E Pleasant Home Road, Sterling or from 10:00 am to 10:45 am on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at the church.
Services will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 11:00 am, at the church, with Pastor Jeff Dilyard officiating. A burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.

I remember the good time we had when you & Darrel and Carl & I went out west on the train, as well as camping experiences together. You are at peace now with Jesus, we will miss you terribly, as all of us do that have lost a loved one recently. We Christians are hoping someday soon Jesus will blow the trumpet and take us all home to be with Him and our loved ones. My prayers are with your family at this time of sorrow.
