In addition to his parents, Peter was predeceased by his wife, Daneen Alice (Reifinger) Henninger in 2011, and sister Karen Yanek in 2022. Peter is survived by his sisters, Debbie Balliet and Lisa Henninger; life partner Annette Lisa; uncle Michael Zamper; step-children Jareth, Hannah, and Wyatt; niece Jessica; and nephew Philip.
When Peter wasn't working, he was an avid fisherman and followed the Eagles.

Petey I can't believe you are no longer walking with us. I have so many fond memories of you and with you. From the first day I started working at the Peppercorn Pub you were my so nice and always had my back. I can't thank you enough for always being my friend. Until we meet again rest easy and know how much you were loved. My heart is breaking.
