Polly was born on January 24, 1949, in Stella, MO, daughter of the late Moss William and Zelma Pauline (Haase) Joel. Polly graduated from Pierce City High School with the class of 1968. She was employed for over twenty years at the Monett Area Sheltered Workshop. Polly was a member of the Waymark Church in Monett. She had the gift of working with her hands and enjoyed latch hooking, cross stitching, coloring and doing word search puzzles. She was known for her ability to win at bingo and was always ready to play.
Survivors include her sister, Edna Stricklin of Monett; niece, Emily Meakins and husband Nate of Nixa; three great-nieces, Maggie Sisney of Joplin, Megan Ray and husband Dominic of Monett and Morgan Sisney of Nixa; and several cousins and friends.
Funeral service for Polly will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2025, at Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, Reverend Robert Bradow officiating. Interment will follow in the Clear Creek Cemetery, Pierce City. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Monett Area Sheltered Workshop. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
